Buddha, the sage on whose teachings Buddhism was founded, standing with Abhaya Mudra. In this Mudra the right hand is raised, palm out with fingers pointing up. The left hand hanging down close to the body, palm facing out. The Abhaya Mudra is a gesture of fearlessness and protection.
